What was supposed to be a quick visit to the dentist turned into a funny moment I didn’t see coming—right in the middle of a place that’s usually not so fun!

I was there to get my permanent crown placed. A week ago, they’d put in a temporary crown, and today was the big day to swap it out for the real thing. This time, though, I had a new dentist—a young, fresh-faced guy I’d never met before.

He carefully removed the temporary crown and placed the new permanent one in, but without cementing it yet, just to make sure it fit and felt right. Once he checked everything, he asked, “How’s the new crown feel?”

I replied, “It feels good,” thinking we were almost done. Then, with a smile, he said, “Alright, let’s make it official!”

Without missing a beat, I quipped, “But I’ve just met you!!”

That’s when the room froze for a split second before the two dental assistants and the dentist burst out laughing! What started as a typical dentist visit quickly turned into a lighthearted, laughter-filled moment.

Who knew you could have a comedy routine in the middle of a dentist’s office? It almost makes you look forward to going back, almost.
